WAKEHURST'S 100 per cent start to the new season came to a crashing halt when they were beaten 5-1 by Larne in the CO-Operative Insurance Cup at Inver Park.
The Wakehurst team was without six first team regulars due to injuries, holidays and suspensions so it was always going to be a tough ask against opponents from Championship One.

WHAT a transformation in the fortunes of Wakehurst!

Having only won a handful of games in Championship Two last season and having only narrowly avoided finishing bottom, Ian Gregg's side have made a blinding start to the new campaign, recording a second successive win with a 1-0 victory over Portstewart at Castledawson on Friday night.

Two victories, with no goals conceded in either, take Wakehurst to the rarefied heights of the summit of the Championship Two table.

Wakehurst Dinner 2010

WAKEHURST reflected upon a "traumatic" season as the club held its end-of-season dinner in Tullyglass House Hotel on Friday night.

The club have to play all its matches outside of Ballymena – with 'home' games firstly at Tobermore and then at Moyola Park – and it took an inevitable toll as Wakehurst finished second bottom in the IFA Champiosnhip, their worst record for some years.
