Glentoran U19 3-3 Wakehurst Strollers

The Strollers enjoyed a terrific workout against the Glens' U19 team yesterday, a slick, fast moving, young side who try to play football the right way.
The Belfast side shaded possession and chances in the opening 15 minutes but it was Wakehurst who took the lead on 32 minutes as John Alexander collected the ball, turned his marker and rifled an unstoppable shot on to the top corner of the net.
Wakehurst regained possession immediately after the re-start and could've quickly doubled their lead but George Fleck's half volley was well saved.
The Glens levelled on 40 minutes when a strike through a crowd of bodies made it's way in to the corner of the net, aided by two deflections.
Paul Gilchrist almost put the Strollers back in front moments before the interval but his well struck free kick went narrowly wide of the post.
Half Time: Glentoran U18 1-1 Wakehurst Strollers
The second half started as the first finished, with the Strollers having the better of the play and they went 2-1 in front as an Tom Campbell corner was only partially cleared and fell to Youth Team player Anthony Shaw who whipped a ball in to the back post to find his 16 year old U17 team mate David Leetch - making his Strollers debut - thundered home a header at the back post.
Wakehurst had a couple more half chances to put them game to bed before the Glens equalised on 81 minutes - breaking from a corner as the ball made its way to their striker who cooly rounded Dean Adams and slotted in to the net from an acute angle.
Four minutes later and the Glens had completely turned the game on its head as they went 3-2 in front but the Strollers battled back and young David Leetch finished well at the back post following good work from Alexander for his second to make it 3-3.
