Wakehurst Strollers 6-2 68th Old Boys ‘A'

The strollers were looking to start the New Year off with a win and did so convincingly, with a good victory over 68th Old Boys.

The Strollers played some nice flowing football which led to Stevie Cochrane getting in behind and crossing the ball for Matthew Logan to cooly sweep into the bottom left corner to give the Strollers a deserved lead.

That man Cochrane was once again involved when he out-muscled an opposition defender and again fizzed the ball across the six yard line for George fleck to finish and continue his impressive goal scoring season and make it 2-0.

Debutant Ryan Carson had a very good game and at 2-0, he made a vital, goal saving challenge before 68th eventually got one back in the 34th minute from a good header.

Strollers did not sit back and try to get to half time with a slender lead, instead they upped it a gear and added two more goals before the break through an outstanding strike into the roof of the net from Przemek Nowak - who had a very good game - and the returning Peter Adams who ghosted into the box for Matthew Logan to find and cooly slotted the ball past the 'keeper from a tight angle.

Half Time: Strollers 4-1 68th Old Boys

The second half started in a bit of a lull before a few close long range efforts from Jordan Walker sparked the game back into life.

Charles Allen closed down a visiting centre back and won the ball, only for the defender to foul him for a penalty - Allen stepped up himself to take the spot kick which was saved but he finished off the rebound to make it 5-1.

68th got a second before Matthew Logan capped an impressive performance with his second of the game finishing off a quick counter attack from a 68th corner.

Chris Worthington cleared the corner and found Jamie Stevenson, who's flick found Peter Adams and his first time ball on the half volley split the 68th defence for Logan to cooly chip the 'keeper.

Impressive performance all round from the strollers and congratulations to Strollers debutant Ryan Carson who was very impressive.
